International Day of Girl Child 2021

We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back. We call upon our sisters around the world to be brave – to embrace the strength within themselves and realize their full potential.” – Malala Yousafzai

11th October is observed as the International Day of Girl Child every year. The aim to celebrate this day is to acknowledge the importance of girl child and the gender-based challenges such as child marriage, poor learning opportunities, discrimination and violence. This day primarily focuses on the necessity to acknowledge the challenges that girls face around the globe and to empower them towards fulfilling their human rights.

The theme of International Day of Girl Child 2021 was “DIGITAL GENERATION. OUR GENERATION.”In the age of digital revolution where people are using technology in various ways to learn new skills and earn revenue, women and girls cannot be left behind.

Students of classes XI & XII discussed the issues faced globally by girl children, and further headed to present their views as PPT presentation. We understand that the International Day of the Girl Child is quintessential, with an aim to assist young girls who have access to better health services, equal opportunities in education and without any gender-based discrimination or violence.

Let us all make the world a safe and a better place for girl child and empower them to fulfil their human rights.
