AMRITAVARSHAM REPORT

On the occasion of Mata Amritanandamayi’s 70th birthday celebration, our school, as part of the week-long “Sevanavaram” activities, observed a profoundly meaningful week. A week long program based on the aspects of community service, environment, compassion and culture were planned in the school.

First day to support and strengthen the bonds of human kindness students, teachers of Amrita Vidyalayam visited “Jeevan Jyoti” Orphanage in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. It provides shelter, care, and support to orphaned and vulnerable children in the society.  They distributed around 25 kgs of rice, towels, bed sheets, drawing and colouring books, crayons, biscuits and toiletries.

Second day was aimed to promote cleanliness and community engagement. Following the cleanliness drive, the students showcased their creativity and dedication to promoting cleanliness through a street play. The play was performed at different central spots in the community.

On this third day of the celebration, our school exhibited its commitment to compassion by donating a total of 105 kilograms of rice and essential groceries to assist 15 underprivileged families residing near Nerul Railway Station. The rice, a product of our on-going Sevamritam project, was thoughtfully contributed by students every Tuesday, ensuring a steady supply of this essential staple. Additionally, students exhibited their dedication to service by raising funds through the “Sealing of Desire” project, allowing for the purchase of crucial groceries. This collective effort symbolized our school’s pledge to serve the community in honor of Mata Amritanandamayi’s values. The event was graced by Swamiji, our esteemed Chief Guest, and K.N. Pillai Sir, of Honor, adding significance to the occasion.

Alongside, each class also performed Archana and Arti to amma, as an expression of devotion. Furthermore, teachers came together in the hall to perform Archana, fostering a sense of unity and spirituality. The day concluded with a soul-enriching Satsang, Bhajan, and Arti session, further emphasizing the spiritual and compassionate essence of our school’s celebration. A beautiful flower Rangoli by teachers with the logo of “Embracing the world” added to the beauty of the day.
