SEED BALL ACTIVITY – 14TH JUNE 2023

“The Creation and the Creator are not two,” Amma constantly reminds us. It is this principle that informs and motivates the various environmental programs and ‘green initiatives’ of Amma.
The C20 working group on Sustainable and Resilient Communities has launched a Global seed ball campaign. This campaign is an initiative to encourage students to make seed balls in an efficient and environmentally friendly way.
Seed balls are a mixture of soil, compost and plant seeds. With the Monsoon set in, these planted seed balls will ultimately mature into trees, resulting in increased green cover. Students of Class 5 and 6 made seed balls with fruit seeds of Watermelon, Jamun and vegetables like Tomato and Chilli on 14th June, 2023. Students were explained the benefits, objective of the activity and how they will be part of this global initiative of restoration of ecosystem by making seeds balls in school.
Administrator, Principal, Head mistress and teachers of the school also participated in this initiative and contributed to the cause.
