69th Republic Day celebrations
Students of Amrita Vidyalayam, Juinagar put up a grand show and showed their passion towards physical fitness on the occasion of the 69th Republic Day celebrations.
The chief Guest for the Flag Hoisting ceremony was Dr. A P Jayaraman, Sr. Nuclear Scientist (Retd), BARC and Br. Avyayamrita Chitanya, In-Charge, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Nerul. Dr. Jayaraman made the students aware of the changing landscape of the world and how equipping oneself with cross domain technology is the need of the hour. “You students are entrusted with the process of nation building as the whole world is looking to India for economic and spiritual progress”, said Brni. Rekha, Principal , Amrita Vidyalayam in her address. Swamiji in his short and profound address told them that alongwith strength of body, self control of mind is and essential component which will help to face the various challenges in life.
After the rendition of the National Anthem, the chief guest received the salute from the students as they marched smartly to the tune of the band in crisp white uniforms.
After the rendition of a patriotic song “Mere desh ki dharti sona ugale”, students performed Mass P T Drill and Calisthenics. An energetic aerobic performance on “Jai Ho” in the aerobic dance form left a lasting impression on the guests and the teachers alike. The celebrations ended with the girls and boys showing their balancing skills by building a human pyramid.
The programme ended with the chanting of Vande Mataram and the chanting of Shanti Mantra.
