NATIONAL MATH DAY’21
0,1,2,3,4,5………Imagine our lives without numbers !!! We encounter numbers in our everyday life. We use them in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing each other for various reasons. Working with numbers help in improvement of logical skills for children of all ages and helps them improve thinking in abstract ways. Dealing with numbers on a regular basis enhances the ability to solve problems independently.
National Mathematics Day is celebrated on 22 December every year to celebrate the birthday of world-renowned Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanuja. The celebration takes place as a mark to appreciate his contributions in mathematics and for making a name of India in the field of mathematics.
The Amritians celebrated this wonderful day as their respective Math teachers (of std I to VII) initiated a few interesting activities such as painting through shapes, popularly known as the Warli Art, Mandala Art, Fraction Art Scenery, Magic with numbers, Drawings using various shapes etc. Learning about the importance of buying and saving their bills was a part of the day. Students made posters about the history of great mathematicians.
