Amrita Vidyalayam organized an interaction for the 8th graders with the volunteers of “Freedom Faith”, Mr. Nicholas Nixon and Mr. Deepak on 18/7/19. Apart from acting as a halfway destitute Home, this centre at Badlapur also works as a de-addiction and rehabilitation centre for people recovering from any type of drug addiction and alcohol related issues.
Principal Brni. Rekha introduced the guests to the students. The interaction focused on real life experiences of the volunteers who, unfortunately succumbed to wrong practices in their early life and found it quite challenging to come back to lead a normal life. True love and concern, they said, is only felt in the hearts of parents and it is the duty of each child to take every effort to not make them suffer due to the choices they make. As they could not complete their education due to the situation they got into, they advised the students that education should be the one and only priority at this stage of life. Thanking the Principal for inviting them and giving them an opportunity to share their experiences, they said they felt very blessed to be at Amrita Vidyalayam and also invited the students to visit their centre.
The volunteers thanked the school for the generous donation of 50 Kgs of rice, which was collected as a part of Sevamritam Project.
