“To be able to receive Guru’s grace is the greatest blessing ” – Brni. Rekha addressed the teachers with these profound words on the occasion of Guru Purnima. Teachers assembled early morning to participate in the Guru Purnima celebrations which was conducted in the auditorium. The programme began with the lighting the auspicious lamp amidst chanting of “Om Amriteshwaryay Namah”. All of them chanted Guru Stotram with great reverence to Amma – Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. Principal Brni. Rekha led everyone to the chanting of Ashtottram (108 names of Amma) to which everyone chanted “Aum Amriteshwari Namah” and offered flowers at the holy lotus feet of Amma.
The Principal, in her talk emphasized the importance of learning the innumerable lessons that the life is teaching, which in itself is the greatest contribution to the “Guru”. She also stressed on the need of inner evolution, which slowly leads one to the awakening of the fullness in oneself. Through a short story of Shivaji Maharaj and Samarth Ramdas, she enlightened the teachers on the essence of guru Bhakti and surrender, which leads to the grace of guru to flow into oneself.
Brni. Rekha guided the teachers to meditate after which the celebrations concluded with Aarthi and the chanting of Shanti Mantra. Teachers and students offered Pushpanjali at Amma’s feet and were given prasad. The prayer students chanted Guru Stotram and a special dedication to Guru by the rendition of a melodious song by Anandamayi House students certainly filled the atmosphere with divinity.
