On 02/09/2024, the Kalari Payattu martial arts training for students of classes 3 to 5 began. The session started with an introduction to Kalari Pranam, a traditional salutation to honor the teacher and the practice space, followed by warm-up exercises. Students learned Ashvavadiva (the horse stance) for strength and balance, practiced leg-raising techniques for flexibility, and worked on the Thekkan style punch for precision. The class concluded with the chanting of traditional mantras, instilling discipline and respect. This first session laid a strong foundation for the students’ journey in Kalari Payattu.
