CHILDREN’S DAY
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, believed that children are the building blocks of the nation. He considered the education of children important, as only education could help them mold into our country’s future leaders. Jawaharlal Nehru was fond of children, and they loved him equally – they called him Chacha Nehru. Thus, throughout the years, 14th of November is celebrated as Children’s Day across India to commemorate his birthday.
The innocence of a child is one of the treasured possessions on earth. Their smile and their charm can leave you enchanted. We, as adults too should strive to remain a child at heart and learn the art of ‘forgiveness’.
Teachers at Amrita Vidyalayam greeted their students after their Diwali break and were ready with the second-semester plans. The Children’s Day celebration was well planned and executed to visualize the healthy growth and happiness of their students.
Amrita Vidyalayam teacher of classes I to V initiated some of the unique ideas to celebrate Children’s Day. While some strengthened the ‘Teacher-Student’ bond with greeting cards, fun games, and quizzes, some showed a few moral-based stories. Some teachers took in special efforts for their students and tagged them with wonderful and encouraging adjectives. The new-normal celebration was definitely not something that could have thrilled all, but teachers left no stone unturned to bring smiles to their faces.
Students, indeed felt appreciated and loved. They assured me that they would always put their wings on their dreams and would never let hurdles stop them from reaching their goals.
