Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream and a vision. Games and sports have become an integral element of present-day education. They teach them the qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit and leadership. They also enhance the physical and mental development of children. Amrita Vidyalayam celebrated the Annual Sports Day, 2023-24 amidst a lot of fun and frolic. It was held on different days based on the different age groups. The first event was of grades I to IV participating in a great amalgamation of track and field events and some interesting yet fun races. They tested their strength and skill in various events such standing broad jump, ball balancing with racket, hurdle race, hula hoop race and running race. Next, was the turn of the seniors from grades V and XII. The energetic and nimble-footed participants performed and won the various events with flying colours. It was a wonderful display of agility, coordination, strength and stamina by the students in various events such as the 50, 100, 200 meters track events, Relay, High jump, standing broad jump, badminton, discus, javelin and shot-put throw for boys and girls. Students enjoyed the day to the fullest displaying their vigour and athletic talents.
