“If we can light the lamp of faith and love in our hearts and walk forward together, then we definitely can dispel the darkness that we see around and bring about a change in society.” – Amma On 27th September,Amrita Vidyalayam celebrated our beloved Amma’s 71st Birthday. On this auspicious occasion, Amrita Nursery students also celebrated Pink Day and World Tourism Day. The students looked like angels walking on the earth as they donned their best Pink attires. Sr.Kg students delivered a few lines on the pink objects that they had brought. Students learnt about the colour pink through various class activities as they made Flamingos, lotus and Boganvilla flowers for their class boards. An interesting video and a PPT was shown with regards to the World Tourism Day. Information about the rich heritage of India (Taj Mahal, Hawa Mahal, Amma’s Amritapuri) was also included. Our love and respect for Amma was depicted through a beautiful Pookalam (Floral Rangoli) where every colour had a meaning. While some colours represented our joy and blessings we have been receiving from Amma, the picture spoke a thousand meanings in itself. Amma : embracing the whole world, Amma’s Hug : Human Union with God. White flowers : Meditation for spreading peace in the world, Lamps : Spreading light to the world. Heart : Spreading Love to the whole world. Wishing Amma a very Happy Birthday !!!
