Is development essential at the cost of destruction? This thought was discussed by the teachers with the students of the Eco and Heritage Club and the interactive discussion of global warming, unexpected climate change, melting of glaciers, etc. helped students understand that increased carbon footprint by way of cutting down trees and mining mountains for the sake of development will ultimately lead to the destruction of life and property. The landslides and floods that are occurring regularly in many States in India due to rampant felling of trees and landfills were discussed to drive home this point.
To create individual responsibility, students from classes 3rd to 8th brought plant saplings which included Tulsi, Aloe Vera, Cactus, some flowering varieties and planted it around the school campus. This activity gave the students a sense of responsibility towards nurturing nature and the environment.
