It looked like the stars aligned themselves on purpose to combine the auspicious Raksha Bandhan and 73rd Independence Day celebrations.
Along with Br. Avyayamrita Chaitanya, the distinguished guest for the morning was Brigadier Sushil Bhasin, who has served the Indian Army for 34 years. After stepping out of the Army , he harnessed his training experience to pursue his passion for training and co-founded Empower Camps. It is this passion which has seen him conduct around 600 corporate training programmes to this day on leadership skills, decision making, communication, collaboration, trust and other behavioral issues in various sectors such as Financial, Automobile, Hospitality and IT companies and.
The celebrations started with the unfurling of the tricolor by Brigadier Shushil Basin, which was followed by the National Anthem. Principal Brni.Rekha introduced the guest. To celebrate the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a few teachers and our student leaders tied Rakhis to the wrists of Swamiji and the Chief Guest, did Aarti, gave sweets and sought their blessings. It was indeed a joyous moment.
“Simple living is the key in the pursuit of happiness” said Brig. Bhasin and connected instantly with the students by his energetic speech which made the students to ponder on 3 important values viz. Freedom should not be taken for granted, simple living is the key to happiness and self discipline is utmost important for self-development. Swamiji used an apt Sanskrit shloka and shared his life experiences to expand on the same thoughts. 2 patriotic songs, a speech in English by Nidhi Shetty and a Road Safety skit”Hamaari Suraksha Hamaari Haathon Mein” depicted the importance of “Safety First”. All the programmes received a lot of applause and appreciation by the Guests and the students. Brig. Bhasin felicitated the winners of Amrita Fest (VII-X) by giving them certificates and medals.
The celebrations ended with the chanting of Vande Mataram and Shanti Mantra.
