Raksha Bandhan is one of the most endearing ways to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters. Amrita Vidyalayam students of Amrita Nursery and students of classes 3rd and 4th celebrated Raksha Bandhan with full enthusiasm, zeal and gaiety. After the prayer, students were familiarized with the customs and rituals followed on this joyous occasion. The girls tied Rakhi on the wrist of the boys and in return received chocolates, as is the tradition. They were told by their teachers to always protect each other. During a recently conducted Pidilite workshop, students from classes 3rd to 6th learnt to make Rakhis using clay. These were neatly packed and sent to Army Jawans to offer our heartfelt gratitude to them for safeguarding our borders. We were very delighted to receive pictures which showed them tying the Rakhis and also a note acknowledging this gesture. Thanks to the combined efforts of teachers and students, the school not only succeeded in catalyzing the feeling of love, care and affection, but also teach students about our sacred tradition.
