“Knowledge is Power”marks Republic Day Celebrations at Amrita Vidyalayam, Juingar
An assemblage of physical activities was presented by the students of Amrita Vidyalayam to mark the Republic day celebrations. The distinguished guest for the morning was Lt. Commander Avinash Chandra, who has served the Armed Forces for 30 years.
The celebrations started with a prayer. The tricolor was unfurled by the Lt. Commander, which was followed by the National Anthem after which he received the salute from the NCC cadets. “If you want to bring change, work towards acquiring education, as knowledge is the only powerful tool with which you can build a distinct nation”, spoken by the veteran commander carried a powerful message to the students who were encouraged to also consider joining the prestigious Armed Forces as a serious option besides pursuing the regular undergraduate courses. Br. Avyayamrita Chaitanya ji, in-charge- Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Nerul captured the attention of the students with real life anecdotes about the power of one’s faith, which is essential towards attaining success. The speeches had a clear message– “the way forward is always to empower the students by transforming them into focussed, capable, skilled and inspired population.”
Students presented a variety of physical acts one after the other starting with Mass PT, Zumba, Hoola Hoop, Athletics, followed by a patriotic dance and ending with a Pyramid formation by both, girls and boys.
The programme was well appreciated by the guest. The celebrations ended with the chanting of Vande Mataram and Shanti Mantra.
